Healthy Living Week

Children in all year groups enjoyed a fantastic week focussing on developing a 'Healthy Mind and Healthy Body'.

The activities were organised ahead of the week to include healthy cooking and eating, experiencing a range of sports and learning key skills to keep themselves safe in order to lead a healthy lifestyle.  Each morning started with a 'wake and shake' and was followed up with further sporting activities hosted by specialist coaches and local community clubs who came in to support this special week.  Our local secondary school Woolmer Hill, provided sports leaders to help run activities and also hosted a group of our children in their Food Technology department to cook some delicious healthy recipes.  We were also delighted to have visits from the RNLI to talk bout water safety and a parent volunteer who shared important first aid skills in her role as a paramedic.

Highlights included visits from Team Rubicon who lead skateboarding sessions, 3Sixty Bike Display Team and we hope all our hard work will help us to gain our next Healthy Living accreditation, as well as our Gold School Games Mark.
