Eco Day at Shottermill!
In March 2023, we invited all pupils from the Haslemere Confederation of Schools to participate in an Art Competition.
Year 3 Ancient Egyptian Learning in History!
The children at Shottermill Junior School were delighted to be asked to design and paint a hen for Haslemere Hens 2022.
It was decided by our Arts Council that the design process should be set as a competition. With over 70 designs submitted by the children of SJS, these were then narrowed down to the Top 20. Voting was undertaken by the whole school and DolpHen was the unanimous winner.
Designed by Daniel Brewer in Year 6. He based his design on his love of the ocean and dolphins; he also considered a design he felt the children could recreate themselves.
DolpHen was painted by Daniel and the members of the Arts Council during their lunch breaks. This was a collaborative pupil lead project that the children rightly feel very proud of.er an introduction for your news story here.
Award-winning children's book author and illustrator Marcia Williams joined the children of Shottermill Junior School on Monday 18th October to launch its first ever Art Week.
On Wednesday the 13th October, Shottermill Junior School welcomed Graham the wildlife expert, who gave each class a fascinating talk all about hedgehogs. Children got to meet Harry and Henry, who were very well behaved hedgehogs!
Mayor visits Year 3 to launch environmental project!
We are pleased to announce that our Shottermill Junior School Breakfast Club is starting this Autumn Term. The Breakfast Club will start on Monday 5th October 2020.
The Breakfast Club will run Monday - Friday and will be held in our hall. Children can be dropped off from 7.45am. At the end of the session children will then join their class in time for morning registration. The Breakfast Club will be run by members of our own staff and will be open to all Shottermill Junior School children.
Children will be able to have breakfast and engage in activities such as reading, playing games, outdoor play and finishing homework. We will also be having 'Fun Fridays' and special themed breakfasts through the term.
The cost for one session is £4.50 and parents will need to book online using Scopay. Sessions can be booked up to one day in advance and are now available to book on Scopay.
Running from Monday 29th June to Monday 6th July, the Shottermill Olympics is a virtual set of 'beat the teacher' competitive events, as well as cross-curricular tasks on a sports theme.
