There were some great distances covered in the triple jump by Will M and in the weighted ball chest pass by Freddie C.

The team worked together with much enthusiasm, tried their hardest and should be very proud of their participation. We were 12 points off 6^th place and 30 off 4th, so it was a close finish for 4th, 5th,  6th and 7th.

After her whole school assembly, Claire then worked with Year 4 to develop their ideas for a time travelling story of their own!  Thank you Claire for your inspirational messages! 

Later in the month we will be welcoming Claire Linney, a past pupil, who will be sharing some of her children's books with us. 

The children were on stage numerous times, as they performed their 'bad' and 'good' auditions in a story all about saving the local town theatre's roof!  Special thanks to Mrs Davies, who wrote such a terrific script and to the PTFA for the newly purchased sound and lighting systems which they fundraised for!

As part of #LetGirlsPlay (an FA initiative), the girls were given coaching by some students from Godalming College who are PE students and football players themselves.

The coaching was brilliant and the girls learnt some great new skills. Many of them commented that they enjoyed the session so much that they now wish to join a football club.

Huge thanks to Godalming College and the girls who all participated so enthusiastically. 

It was decided by our Arts Council that the design process should be set as a competition. With over 70 designs submitted by the children of SJS, these were then narrowed down to the Top 20. Voting was undertaken by the whole school and DolpHen was the unanimous winner. 

Designed by Daniel Brewer in Year 6. He based his design on his love of the ocean and dolphins; he also considered a design he felt the children could recreate themselves.

DolpHen was painted by Daniel and the members of the Arts Council during their lunch breaks. This was a collaborative pupil lead project that the children rightly feel very proud of.er an introduction for your news story here.

The Breakfast Club will run Monday - Friday and will be held in our hall.  Children can be dropped off from 7.45am.  At the end of the session children will then join their class in time for morning registration.  The Breakfast Club will be run by members of our own staff and will be open to all Shottermill Junior School children.

Children will be able to have breakfast and engage in activities such as reading, playing games, outdoor play and finishing homework.  We will also be having 'Fun Fridays' and special themed breakfasts through the term.

The cost for one session is £4.50 and parents will need to book online using Scopay.  Sessions can be booked up to one day in advance and are now available to book on Scopay.

Iris and Alex Sinclair also prepared a moving assembly to tell us their personal story about a member of  their family lost in military circumstances at the age of 19.  Relatives of the family were awarded the Elizabeth Cross, which we were able to show to the children.
